My husband and I fall into the fast food trap whenever we forget to plan out our meals or when neither of us feels like cooking.

The food is disgusting, highly caloric, fat ladden, and everything on the menus tastes exactly the same.

However, I don't consider Subway in the same class as BK or Mickey Dees because they at least have a few things on the menu that don't cause your arteries to clog the instant the food hits your bloodstream.

Oh, I figured you were doing kind of what I do when I'm mildly annoyed-- chat about it.

So I had to be annoying and pipe up with the other side. ;^p

You are right that it is a balancing act. I don't want to give the impression that I was angry. It was just a minor annoyance. In light of many of things that could happen in my life, this is nothing.

You bring up a good point on cost of operation. I guess I would encourage the owner that if it is a trend that they cut back their posted hours on evenings when they are slow.

In defense of Subway:
They're independently owned.

If they take an hour to clean up at the end of the day, and they have two hours to go to closing and only one person has been in (I've seen it happen, when I was in fast food), then it's basic common sense to close early.

It basically boils down to pissing you off-- which would pay for MAYBE the cost for one guy, not counting the cost for food, lights, etc--vs saving the operating cost.

It's a balancing act, really.

(And yes, folks who came in at the last minute--or AFTER the last minute-- were peeves, but only if we'd been silent up to that point)
