<description>"Individual followers of Christ within the local church needs to put what they’ve learned in church and in their individual study to practice in their personal lives, families, workplaces, neighborhoods, communities and beyond." (Shane)

I see I am not alone in this critique about the church studying the 'word' but not so much 'enacting' the word. I chalk that up to a theology that places a lack of responsibility on the believer because their salvation is assured at confession. People seem to get confused about their roles in a role-less faith (Jesus did it all).

However, I agree with your blog altogether - we need to live what we trult believe. I would go so far as to say 'what you do is what you believe' (not vice versa). But the key is to 'enact' the teachings in our lives and also in the relationships we have with everyone - all over the place. What good is saying we 'love' people and not showing it? That's like salt without flavor. Or the light for the house being put under a bed (what a waste). A needs B to be something we consider legit.</description>
