I think McCain would be a very good pick. We have friends who are registered Democrats who have already stated that if Hillary wins they will not vote for her - would definitely consider voting for McCain.

Jason - stop drinking that kool-aid!

DMG - very true. In recent Real Clear Politics head to head polls McCain does the best.... Romney actually does the worst.

I think the best two to face the Democrats would be Huckabee or McCain. Perhaps on a ticket together? I'd like to see Huckabee/McCain, but it looks like a McCain/Huckabee ticket would be more likely. Romney is going to be a hard contender with 72 delagates, but with Super Tuesday who knows? Huckabee was leading in most of the south with Florida being the exception. If those states go his way, and if he can win Florida with Texas being a state he is leading in that will give him a good number of delagates as well.

Who knows? I have a feeling the GOP won't have a nominee until the convention, and that it will likely be a brokered convention. I hope I'm wrong though.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. I think each candidate brings something good to the table but winning the nomination is only "pre-season." The GOP needs to nominate the strongest, best possible candidate - one that can go the distance.

Ron Paul will only stand to gain more and more recognition of his message of truly limited government, END WELFARE FOR ILLEGALS and END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP, no income taxes, sound monetary policies, humble foreign policy, school choice, school prayer, abolishing Dept of Homeland Security, and certainly NOT a flip-flopper, would get rid of the Patriot Act and protect civil liberties, abolish torture, and would legalize hemp. Ron knows what it will take to save our economic well being. He will turn the military industrial complex on its head.

Now if only someone would take a stand to end this media consolidation in this country!! And during this election I've realized that Faux News is TRULY a propaganda machine - worse than I thought. I'm a Republican who HATES Fox News.
